Overview:
- Sanctuary for Families is a leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and related forms of gender violence.
- Provides comprehensive services to help survivors rebuild their lives and works to end gender violence through direct services, outreach and training, and systems-change advocacy.
- Services are available in 11 locations throughout New York City.

Responsibilities:
- Screens and provides legal representation for victims of human trafficking, domestic abuse, and/or gender violence.
- Supervises pro bono attorneys, staff attorney(s), and legal interns, fellows, and volunteers.
- Provides technical assistance to senior staff attorneys on complex cases.
- Advocates for clients in various legal and social systems.
- Conducts outreach initiatives to vulnerable communities.
- Provides trainings and legal assistance on human trafficking.
- Collaborates with other organizations and agencies to secure the best results for clients.
- Supports identification of grant opportunities and related funding research, proposals, and reports.
- Collaborates with the Director of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative in recruitment, hiring, and professional development of staff.

Requirements:
- JD degree and admission to the New York State Bar or eligible for reciprocity.
- 5+ years of experience in immigration and/or criminal law.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws related to human trafficking.
- Experience in human trafficking or gender-based violence preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Bilingual in English and a relevant community language.
- Strong writing, legal and policy research, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Ability to motivate, inspire, and manage staff.
- Familiarity with clinical treatment for survivors of trauma preferred.
- Understanding of and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
- Passionate about ending gender violence and human trafficking.

Salary Information:
- Budgeted salary range: $85,000 - $92,000 annually.
- Hybrid work position; must be able to meet job location schedule obligations.
