The Role:

As an Associate Attorney in the Environmental and Renewable Energy Practice at Lippes Mathias, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of complex and challenging matters, including:

Litigation matters involving federal and state environmental laws
Regulatory matters related to environmental permitting and renewable energy development
Due diligence for environmental issues in corporate and real estate transactions
Environmental enforcement actions
Contaminated property remediation and redevelopment

Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting legal research and analysis
Drafting legal memoranda and briefs
Preparing and reviewing contracts and other legal documents
Communicating with clients and other parties
Participating in negotiations and settlement discussions
Assisting with business development and marketing efforts


Qualifications:

Four to six years of experience in environmental law, with a focus on litigation and/or regulatory matters
Strong understanding of federal and state environmental laws and regulations
Experience with environmental permitting and renewable energy development preferred
Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
Admitted to practice law in New York or Washington, .
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment

Summary:

Lippes Mathias, a full-service law firm, is seeking an experienced associate attorney to join their Environmental and Renewable Energy Practice. The ideal candidate will have four to six years of experience in litigation and/or regulatory matters related to federal and state environmental laws, environmental permitting, renewable energy development, and contaminated properties. A strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a New York or Washington, . bar license are required. The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $130,000 annually, with opportunities for growth and advancement within the firm.
