The Tax Supervisor position in the Financial Services/Capital Markets industry at RSM offers a competitive salary range of $75,600 to $154,100. This full-time position is open to those with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with at least 4 years of experience in business taxation. The ideal candidate will have prior experience serving Capital Markets clients and a working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance. They should also be eligible to sit for the CPA exam, EA, or a licensed JD. As a Tax Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing detailed review and analysis of complex partnership and/or corporate tax returns for Capital Markets clients, including broker-dealers, futures commission merchants, investment banks, fintech, and proprietary trading and high-frequency trading firms. You will also work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team, all while managing risk for both the client and the firm. Additionally, you will interact directly with clients, handle questions, concerns, and provide planning and training for staff members. Key Responsibilities: - Provide detailed review and analysis of complex partnership and/or corporate tax returns for Capital Markets clients, including broker-dealers, futures commission merchants, investment banks, fintech, and proprietary trading and high-frequency trading firms - Work on multiple complex issues while effectively communicating with clients and the service team to manage risk for both the client and the firm - Interact directly with clients, handling questions, concerns, and providing planning and training for staff members - Develop, motivate, and train staff level and intern team members - Perform, document, and summarize research and conclusions regarding specific tax issues - Stay up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field - 4+ years of experience in business taxation working for a Big 4 or a large national, regional, or local accounting firm; or equivalent in industry or with a law firm - Must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam, EA, or a licensed JD - Prior tax compliance & consulting experience serving Capital Markets clients - Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance - Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or collect necessary information for tax service requirements Preferred Qualifications: - Master's of Accounting, Master's of Taxation, or MBA - Experience preparing & reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740 At RSM, we value our employees and offer a competitive benefits and compensation package.
