A law firm in Sacramento, CA  is seeking an Employment (Plaintiff Side) Associate Attorney with the following qualifications:

 

Job Overview:

The Employment Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling plaintiff-side employment law cases, including drafting legal documents, conducting research, participating in mediations, and collaborating with clients and team members.

 

Duties:

  • Draft motions, responses to discovery, and initial pleadings.
  • Conduct legal research on employment law issues.
  • Collaborate with clients and team members on W&H cases, including class actions.
  • Draft various legal documents for State and Federal Courts.
  • Oversee mediation and court approval processes for employment cases.
  • Manage pleadings filing, service of process, and compliance with deadlines.
  • Handle employment-related disputes, including discrimination and wrongful termination cases.
  • Collaborate with HR departments and management on employment policies.
  • Participate in mediations and second-chair experiences in employment law matters.

 

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • 3-5 years of experience practicing employment law on the plaintiff side.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment regulations.
  • Exceptional writing, research, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.
  • Background in plaintiff-side employment matters.

 

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stay current of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.

 

Education:

JD degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in the California State Bar.
