As a Tax Senior, you will use your industry knowledge and experience to advise clients on tax implications and other accounting matters related to unclaimed property. You will also work with leadership to recommend alternate courses of action and identify different methods of complying with unclaimed property statutes and regulations. Salary Information:
- National range: $70,000 - $125,000

Job Title:

Experience:
- 2+ years of prior experience in tax, financial statement auditing, or forensic accounting in a public accounting firm or in-house organization

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Research complex situations and conduct thorough research to provide clients with accurate information and advice
- Keep up-to-date with relevant unclaimed property laws and regulations
- Gather and manipulate data from clients to prepare annual escheat returns
- Use various software systems for data gathering and reporting
- Identify exemptions and deferrals, perform reconciliations, and respond to state authority notices
- Assist with due diligence letter processing and client payment processing
- Provide support during unclaimed property exams and assist with client refunds
- Draft memorandums and opinions on escheat issues and participate in developing policies and procedures
- Represent clients during unclaimed property audits and voluntary disclosures
- Identify gift card planning opportunities and assist with implementation
- Compile and organize relevant source data for escheat items and prepare scheduling decks for analysis
- Assist clients with remediation procedures and develop exposure quantification models
- Utilize various software systems and maintain knowledge of relevant GL systems
- Train and evaluate the performance of team members and provide feedback
- Act as a primary contact on assigned engagements and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Participate in relevant trade organizations and public speaking events
- Update CRM entries and manage client expectations
- Project manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
- Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, and other software preferred
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
