Role and Responsibilities:

- Handle US EPL claims and related systems and processes
- Evaluate exposures and make substantive claim decisions for US EPL claims and other lines of business as needed
- Provide coverage, liability, and damages analysis for EPL and Fiduciary Liability claims, with knowledge of D&O liability claims
- Proactively identify trends and exposures for the Commercial Management Liability (CML) or Financial Institutions (FI) portfolio
- Support underwriting with legal review and policy drafting
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of exposure to underwriting and management
- Prepare and distribute narrative and arithmetic reports in a timely manner
- Contribute to the success of the Global Claims Team by working closely with colleagues worldwide on various projects, such as attending industry conferences, speaking/presenting, and publishing on current claim trends and issues
- Communicate and support underwriting and other functional groups within the organization
- Other duties as required by management
- Some travel may be required

Minimum Qualifications:

- Law degree required
- 5-10 years of experience in primarily EPL claims handling or related litigation, with a career history of increasing responsibility
- Preference for experience at both a law firm and insurance carrier
- Strong preference for candidate pursuing or in the process of pursuing an insurance-related designation (RPLU or CPCU)
- Exposure to or direct handling of complex high-profile/high-exposure management liability claims, with experience evaluating, handling, negotiating, and settling matters with exposures over $10 million
- Meaningful legal review and policy drafting experience
- Ability to establish close working relationships with other departments, including underwriting and actuarial
- Strong negotiation, analytical, written, and organizational skills
- Excellent marketing and communication skills
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and various in-house claims systems such as Guidewire, Genius, and ImageRight are a plus)
