A respected law firm located in Vienna, VA, is seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal research, writing, and courtroom experience, with comfortability in handling depositions, arguing motions, drafting pleadings, and managing case-related deadlines. Duties

• Represent clients in litigation matters before state and federal courts, as well as federal agencies
• Conduct complex legal research and provide strategic analysis to support case developments
• Take and defend depositions, and manage all aspects of discovery
• Draft, review, and refine legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, interrogatories, and legal correspondence
• Actively participate in case strategy meetings and collaborate with colleagues to refine litigation plans
• Maintain regular communication with local counsel
• Oversee day-to-day case management and ensure deadlines are met with accuracy and efficiency

Requirements

• Experience in litigation, including trial proceedings, depositions, and motions practice is preferred
• Familiarity with the Virginia legal system, especially courtrooms in Fairfax County and the NOVA area
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Virginia State Bar
• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to strategic discussions
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Ethical conduct and commitment to maintaining professional standards

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Must be admitted to the Virginia State Bar
