Following Cloud's passing, Delbert E. Martensen, affectionately known as "D.E.," joined forces with F.M. Thompson. D.E. Martensen's deep understanding of Illinois Drainage law and his involvement in the drafting committee for the Illinois Drainage Act of 1956 solidified his reputation as a legal luminary. After Thompson's demise, D.E. Martensen continued his solo practice until his son, Robert E. Martensen, joined him in 1961.

In 1977, Jerry Niemann joined Robert E. Martensen and Harold Andrew, forming the formidable partnership of Martensen, Andrew & Niemann.
