Advice to law firm management:
Use this firm as a way to get experience. It won't be a lifetime firm for most associates so do your best to make a good name for yourself in this positive work environment.
Pros:
This office is organized which helps when things get chaotic. The support staff is all on top of their game and will be there to help you when you need it. The work environment is amazing.
Cons:
The worst thing about the firm is that they are not competitive with their benefits. There is little investment in opportunities for growth in this firm.

Advice to law firm management:
Update your systems and technology. The firm is too stuffy - even in law firm standards. Your associates and employees are to be respected. There are plenty of other (and better) firms out there.
Pros:
Decent salary and benefits. There is health insurance but it is too expensive and has poor coverage. There is a bonus based on bill but is often unattainable. There really is not too much else.
Cons:
Poor corporate culture and partners that seemed to not only engender backstabbing and throwing under the bus but actively encouraged it. This same partner in the litigation department threatened physical violence!! The firm needs to get with the times - seems stuck in the 1990s. Disorganized and bureaucratic - CYA and then gives you the run around - "pass the buck ethos."
Partners to Avoid and Why:
Be wary of the General Tort as well as Construction Group in NYC office. They have inflated egos and do not know how to manage.
Favorite Things About this Firm:
There really is not anything. Bad experience. The salary as decent. The offered many benefits but the health insurance was too expensive and did not cover much.
