This is a prestigious job, and you should consider applying here. If you do well, your career will thrive and you will have made a strong choice.

Salaries are decent, and you will be able to network with a handful of important attorneys. With an excellent work ethic one can even become one someday. The job will help one to succeed.

The firm is not always successful in managing inter-employee strife. There have been several complaints over the years of lawyers overstepping the bounds of decency at this law firm.

Diversity Write a review

Rodey fosters a firm-wide culture that promotes diversity. This culture is reflected in Rodey's efforts to recruit lawyers who will provide unique background, experience, and perspective, which benefits not only the firm, but the clients we serve. Rodey strongly supports the professional careers of female attorneys, attorneys of color, LGBT attorneys, and attorneys with disabilities.

In order to maintain and further enhance this culture, Rodey has a Diversity and Inclusiveness Committee which assists with recruiting and retaining lawyers, as well as promoting firm-wide diversity and inclusiveness. Our lawyers also serve on bar associations which support and promote the advancement of attorneys of color, as well as attorneys of various religious faiths. Our managing director, Charles Vigil, was honored by the University of Michigan Law School with the J.T. Canales Distinguished Alumni Award for significant contribution to empowering the Latino community and the next generation of Latino lawyers and leaders. Our co-chair, Denise Chanez, is the co-chair of the State Bar of New Mexico Committee on Diversity in the Legal Profession. She is the Immediate Past President of the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association and a member of its Board of Directors. She is one of Albuquerque Business First's Women of Influence, 2016.

Summer associate program

The summer associate program gives law students (and occasionally law school graduates awaiting judicial clerkships) the outstanding opportunity to sample a full range of legal work and to become acquainted with the Rodey team. As a summer associate, you will have supervised contact with clients and an opportunity to participate in litigation, as well as legal research and drafting.

Summer associates are not specifically assigned to a department and are invited to attend all department meetings. Each summer associate is assigned a mentor who is responsible for general assistance on firm matters. One or two of our attorneys are designated coordinators of the summer associate program. They regulate workload and try to ensure that each summer associate has a positive experience that closely parallels the practice of law at Rodey.
