Kightlinger & Gray, LLP Reviews

Advice to law firm management: Give managers training to equip them to be managers. It seems like none of the managers here have ever gone throuh training

Pros: Good pay. I've gotten two raises in a year. Good amount of time off, but don't get an opportunity to use it.

Cons: Benefits are very expensive if you have a family. Management does not care about the lower level employees Very stressful to work here Long hours Rules aren't for all employees Employees that have been here a long time get special privileges.

Partners to Avoid and Why: I really don't want to list names. That seems kind of rude to me. There are some partners that are rude and don't even say hi when you walk by though.

Favorite Things About this Firm: There is a free pop machine in the Indy office. Business casual dress code is new and that is a nice policy.

Job type: Full time

Advice to law firm management: Maybe management can do something about the long hours. I'm not expecting much, but one can always hope. It's really not that bad as it stands now, but it could always be better.

Pros: I'm very happy with both the benefits and the pay here. We have good health insurance, good dental insurance, and there are some nice perks, as well.

Cons: The hours here can sometimes cause strain at home, but I think that's probably true of every law firm. Either way, be prepared for long nights and weekends.

Since 1946, when Erle A. Kightlinger and Mark W. Gray began practicing law together in Indianapolis, the firm's mission has been to ensure that the interests of our clients are vigorously promoted in a professional, ethical manner. Although their early practice was general in nature, Erle and Mark placed a strong emphasis on litigation skills. Erle and Mark believed that a litigation background would better enable the firm's attorneys to advise clients on how to avoid the costs and uncertainties of lawsuits when possible and how to minimize the expense and risk when litigation cannot be avoided. This perspective allowed the firm to expand into a broad range of non-litigation practice areas and business advisory services in addition to its traditional litigation practice. More than 60 years later, that mission—coupled with deep industry experience and a robust reputation to match—remains.

LawCrossing has the most listings of any job board I have used. It's actually a great site. The website had a lot of detail. It’s nice that you don't have to go through a recruiter if you don't want to. You can actually contact the law firm directly for the positions listed. LawCrossing had a ton of great features.
