Advice to law firm management: Take in more international staff to increase workforce diversity. This will enable more foreign talent to be enlisted, to further the success of the firm.

Pros: Leading global law firm, especially in Corporate commercial legal practice and Energy Law. This especially attracted me to the firm. The exposure gained will forever be an asset.

Cons: None, I absolutely enjoyed my time with the colleagues. Although, I believe a more diverse work force should be adopted, making it easier for international students to make way in

Advice to law firm management: People who have a chance to work in competing projects in house need to be reminded that it isn't personal when they have to fight.

Pros: Everyone here seems to be willing to attempt be friends with you if you give it a decent enough try.

Cons: Sometimes it can be hard to do some higher stress work against people when you think of people as friends.

Pro bono

Despite the increased demand of the firm's lawyers' time, Clifford Chance attaches great importance to pro bono work. Pro bono work is acknowledged during the appraisals of each of the lawyers but those who take part in it are not motivated by any reward. Justice is what drives them to take a career in the law and pro bono work gives them an outside perspective to the world outside business law and also a valuable opportunity to make social impact. For a Clifford Chance lawyer, all types of pro bono work is included. Sometimes, some of them spend evenings working in local community legal clinic while some monitor the proceedings in major international courts. Notable cases


  • Clifford Chance has been retained for legal work by two U.S. Department of Energy panels. The work involves working on renewable energy projects, including the world's largest wind farm located in eastern Oregon. Clifford Chance represented Syncora Guarantee Inc. during the sale of Los Angeles Dodgers. Syncora insures all of the notes that are outstanding under the Dodger Tickets securitization financing. The law firm's New York Sports practice handles finances for several major sports teams in North America.

Summer associate program


Clifford Chance recognizes how critical it is for law students to get some work experience before they complete their studies. Internships are offered to students who are living in the US or overseas so that they get to learn how to work in an international law firm. The Clifford Chance Summer Program offers law students to get experience on major transactions and cases. One can know much about the top attorneys in legal surroundings and while programs are organized elsewhere, summer associates might get a coveted opportunity to spend part of the time in one of the offices based in a foreign location. Clifford Chance offers students a complete hands-on introduction to the practices and the firm. Summer law clerks are expected to complete many assignments such as conducting legal research, assisting with securities filings, perform investigations and analyses. Our summer assigning process allows summer law clerks to receive assignments from many practice groups, as needed.
