I would want the partners to show a bit more care outside of their own work. I think it would increase morale and let everyone know small cases are just as important to the firm.
I found myself immediately putting in a lot of hard work, but the firm culture does not encourage workaholic behavior. The other attorneys are very intelligent and knowledge in their respective practice areas. I found myself learning a lot from them.
With the partners they at times only seem to care about their own work. If you are working with a partner it'll be a great experience. Otherwise they tend to not care a lot. I have noticed that it does lower the morale a bit, but they do handle many of the high profile cases.

MCWG attorneys have worked in conjunction with the New York Legal Assistance Group and the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. NYLAG is a not-for-profit organization that provides free legal services to low income New Yorkers for many different types of matters, including family/matrimonial disputes, wrongful evictions, criminal law issues, guardianship proceedings, bankruptcy cases, and contract and employment disputes. VLA is a legal-aid organization that provides legal advice to artists and not-for-profit entities. MCWG attorneys have also assisted NYLAG and VLA in providing referrals for a variety of legal services.

Each Fall, MCWG visits a number of prominent law schools to invite several students who will have completed two years of law school curriculum by the next Summer to join us and to learn what it is like to be an associate at MCWG. Summer Associates are treated as entry-level attorneys. Typical assignments allow Summer Associates and the firm to evaluate the type of work and work product and to judge the potential for employment at the firm following graduation. Assignments vary from legal research and writing to drafting discovery and motions, conducting document reviews, observing depositions and courtroom activities, and participating as part of a trial team. Summer Associates also are encouraged to take part in MCWG's accredited CLE program.
