Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney with at least 4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial loan transactions, representing borrowers, lenders, and/or government-sponsored enterprises. This role involves reviewing, drafting, and negotiating loan documents, managing legal due diligence, and closing complex commercial real estate transactions. Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and/or other multifamily lenders, as well as syndicated credit facilities, is a plus. The candidate should be comfortable training and managing junior associates and paralegals, and prior law firm experience is required.

Job Details:

Duties:

  • Represent borrowers, lenders, and/or government-sponsored enterprises in commercial loan transactions.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate loan documents.
  • Manage legal due diligence, including organizational documents, ownership structure, title, survey, zoning, leases, and legal opinions.
  • Manage and close complex commercial real estate transactions.
  • Provide expertise on loans secured by multifamily housing, seniors housing, affordable housing, manufactured housing, and/or hotels.
  • Train and manage junior associates and paralegals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior law firm experience is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Outstanding academic record.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to and in good standing with the Maryland Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficient in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating loan documents.
  • Strong legal due diligence skills.
  • Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and/or other multifamily lenders.
  • Familiarity with syndicated credit facilities.
  • Ability to manage and close complex commercial real estate transactions.
  • Leadership skills for training and managing junior associates and paralegals.
