The Cigna Group is seeking an experienced Associate Senior Counsel to provide strategic legal advice and counsel for a region of the US Commercial Medical Network contracting team. This is a full-time position with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 50% in-office and 50% remote work. The ideal candidate will have a background in the health care managed care/insurance industry and medical provider contracting, as well as the ability to collaborate within the business and across the broader Legal and Corporate Affairs team.

Responsibilities:
- Act as lead counsel for regional US Medical Network contracting teams, supporting Regional Vice President, Regional Directors, and Provider Contracting Directors across multiple states
- Provide day-to-day legal support for network management, including strategy and advice on contracting approaches, compliance with Cigna policies, and assistance with routine documents
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex provider agreements with an understanding of business implications and potential regulatory considerations
- Manage provider disputes and pre-litigation matters, counseling business clients on potential outcomes and assisting with responses to objections and disputes
- Collaborate with key legal, compliance, and business partners to address claims or contract issues, regulatory concerns, and assist with responses to regulators, clients, or customers
- Support various company initiatives, such as value-based contracting, strategic alliances, and cost-savings strategies
- Work closely with internal partners, including network team, compliance, litigation, privacy, state regulatory affairs, government affairs, and other business units to provide legal advice and counsel on a variety of decisions

Qualifications:
- Law degree and at least 8-10 years of corporate legal department or law firm experience
- Strong analytical and contract writing skills, as well as strong negotiating skills
- Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively
- Demonstrated good judgment and willingness to take on difficult projects
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of business stakeholders and team members
