# Senior Complex Claims Director - Management Liability

**Job Description**

AIG is seeking a Senior Complex Claims Director - Management Liability to join its General Insurance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of the company's highest severity D&O claims, with the opportunity to handle high exposure Employment Practices Liability and Fiduciary Liability claims.

**Responsibilities**

- Determine the scope and extent of available coverage.
- Investigate, evaluate and disposition of new and existing Directors & Officers Liability claims including possibly Employment Practices Liability and Fiduciary Liability claims.
- Prepare and execute investigation strategies which identify critical issues effecting liability, causation and damages and assessment of risk transfer and contribution opportunities.
- Communicate and contact with internal and external customers, including insureds, brokers and underwriters, to provide guidance and manage expectations.
- Properly document exposure evaluation and resolution strategy.
- Present to senior management of claim disposition recommendations.
- Negotiate multi-million dollar claims with the top plaintiff attorneys nationwide.
- Strategize and budget litigation of each claim through discussions with counsel, vendors and insureds.
- Establish with defense and coverage counsel clear ground rules in order to maintain financial control of budget and expenses.
- Travel 10%.

**Qualifications**

- 10+ years of experience handling complex insurance claims, litigation or other related experience; management liability experience highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and strong negotiation skills.
- Advanced experience and capabilities in litigation claims management including ADR and mediation process.
- Experience attending and controlling cases: pre-suit, litigated, post-trial, at mediations, settlement conferences, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required. JD highly preferred. Multi-state adjuster licenses preferred.

**Salary & Benefits**

For positions based in New York City, the base salary range is $115,000-$170,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
