Job Description: As a Staff Attorney at The Door, you will join our Legal Services Center and focus on our immigration practice. You will have the opportunity to represent young people ages 12-21 in immigration matters such as SIJS, asylum, U Visas, and T Visas. Additionally, you will facilitate internal and external referrals to education, health care, and other services, and liaise with foster care agencies to provide immigration legal services to young people in foster care. You will also lead initiatives to advance the legal rights of youth and assist with legal education efforts. Responsibilities: - Represent young people ages 12-21 in immigration matters - Facilitate referrals to education, health care, and other services - Liaise with foster care agencies to provide immigration legal services - Lead initiatives to advance the legal rights of youth - Assist with legal education efforts - Document and report service delivery to ensure compliance with funding requirements - Supervise interns and volunteers - Other responsibilities as assigned by Managing Attorney, Supervising Attorney, and/or Director Qualifications and Requirements: - - At least 1 year of legal services experience, preferably in Family or Immigration law - Interest in a comprehensive approach to meeting the needs of young people - Creative thinker with superior communication skills - Excellent organizational, time management, and record-keeping skills - Ability to work independently, assess priorities, take initiative, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with young people, management, and program staff - Knowledge of and ability to apply positive youth development principles - Professional proficiency in French or Spanish required Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 35 hours a week.
