The Commission’s headquarters is in Topeka with the central Conservation office in Wichita and four Conservation district offices located in Dodge City, Wichita, Chanute and Hays. Work includes evaluating issues and facilitating formulation of staff positions; coordinating preparation of testimony; preparing pleadings, motions and briefs; providing representation in dockets. This further includes directing a staff of legal and clerical employees engaged in performing various legal and related activities; direct and supervise the work of subordinate attorneys and is responsible for all legal activity of staff attorneys and special counsel in cases before the Commission. Qualifications Education: Degree from an accredited law school. Licensing & Certification: Licensed and in good standing with the Supreme Court of Kansas at the time of appointment. Minimum Qualifications: At least five (5) years of experience in professional legal work, including experience in litigation, governmental or administrative law setting. Excellent communication and writing skills are essential. Candidates must be qualified for admission to practice before the US District Court for the District of Kansas.
