Job Summary:

The Tax Experienced Senior, State and Local Tax - Property Tax role at BDO is a highly specialized position that requires a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations related to property tax. Job Duties:

Conducting research on tax laws and regulations related to property tax
Applying industry knowledge and experience to advise clients on property tax implications of their business objectives
Recommending alternative courses of action to minimize tax burden and compliance costs for clients
Staying up-to-date on changes in tax policy and applying new policies to tax compliance
Serving as the primary contact for clients, including preparing and presenting presentations
Managing the compliance processes for multiple client assignments
Reviewing tax returns, identifying basic, complex, and advanced issues, and communicating with clients to gather information
Developing, recommending, and implementing methods to maximize client benefits and decrease taxes
Involving other state tax specialists when appropriate and organizing and conducting internal CPE training sessions
Introducing and developing new or improved ideas to reduce taxes or expenses for clients
Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and client personnel

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Math, or related field required
Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Economics, Math, or related field preferred
Three or more years of experience in property, state and local, or multi-state tax required
Prior experience with real property appeals preferred
CMI, ASA, CPA certification or other relevant certification preferred
