The Information Technology group provides enterprise-wide IT solutions for all of AIG’s specialized disciplines. Technology provides strategic and procedural support in all of AIG’s specialized disciplines, such as policy issuance, premium collection, claims handling, and administration. It enables AIG to deliver business strategies through efficient world-class IT and operations services, while ensuring the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place.

In this role, you will:

Handle all aspects of complex directors & officers claims, including securities class actions, high exposure employment practices liability and fiduciary liability matters, from inception through conclusion brought against publicly traded, privately held and not-for-profit insureds.
Make coverage determinations, investigate losses, evaluate and project potential exposures, make case presentations, set judgmental reserves, develop and implement resolution strategies, work with defense counsel, collaborate with underwriting and deliver differentiated value and service to our customers and distribution partners.
Manage complex D&O/EPL/Fiduciary claims, including coverage evaluations, liability analysis, loss reserving, and claim resolution
Partner with underwriting to provide analysis and recommendations on risk selection, pricing, coverage issues, and reinsurance
Collaborate with other departments such as legal, compliance, and finance to ensure proper handling of claims and adherence to regulations and guidelines
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including insureds, brokers, and external vendors
Stay up to date on industry trends and developments, and incorporate this knowledge into claim handling strategies and processes
Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members
Represent AIG in industry events and conferences, and contribute to thought leadership initiatives


What we’re looking for:

Minimum of 6+ years of experience handling complex insurance claims, litigation or other related experience
Juris Doctor is preferred
Excellent negotiation skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Knowledge of the litigation and arbitration process
Experience handling D&O/EPL/Fiduciary claims is preferred
Experience working with outside counsel and other third-party vendors
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Ability to mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
