Summary: CoRe is seeking a Director of Fair Housing to join their team in combating gentrification, displacement, social disenfranchisement, and structural injustice through affirmative litigation. The Director of Fair Housing will be responsible for developing, expanding, and supervising fair housing work under relevant statutes and regulations, with a focus on CoRe's priority neighborhoods. The position requires a minimum of five years of experience litigating housing cases and cultural competence in working with diverse communities. The salary for this position ranges from $105,000 to $160,000, with excellent benefits. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and resume to Communities Resist Inc. Director of Fair Housing Responsibilities: - Supervising staff attorneys and providing resources for litigating fair housing claims - Managing a team of staff attorneys in group tenant association representation and assisting with their caseloads - Conducting training for new and continuing staff attorneys - Developing and maintaining a personal caseload of complex or impact-oriented fair housing matters - Working with community partners to improve education and intake of fair housing matters - Programming and leading community education events on fair housing issues - Producing written resources on fair housing issues - Investigating and submitting applications for additional funding sources - Participating in management meetings and assisting with other administrative responsibilities - Ensuring ethical and competent representation from direct supervisees Qualifications: - Admission to the bar of the State of New York or eligible for admission - Minimum of five years of experience litigating housing cases or similar experience - Cultural competence and ability to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds - Excellent legal writing, litigation, and advocacy skills - Strong interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and meet deadlines - Computer proficiency for relevant tasks and recordkeeping CoRe is an equal opportunity employer, offering equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on various factors.
