Varnum LLP is seeking an experienced attorney to join the Data and Privacy Mobility Practice Team. This position is open to remote candidates, but the preference is for one of our Michigan offices.

**Qualifications:**

- 10+ years of legal practice experience
- Strong regulatory and/or litigation skills
- Expertise and passion for data privacy and emerging transportation technology
- Well-versed in emerging domestic and international data privacy regulations
- Experience drafting and reviewing data protection impact assessments, privacy policies and product-specific privacy notices
- Experience assisting with the implementation of policies and procedures for responding to consumer rights requests and data breaches
- Experience reviewing vendor and customer contracts with a focus on security and data privacy issues
- Experience advising mobility and technology providers on domestic and international data privacy laws and regulations
- Excellent academic credentials
- Ability to simultaneously juggle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of responsiveness
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Outstanding client service skills
- Current or pending CIPP certification preferred
- Admission to the Michigan bar is preferred, but not required

**Job Description:**

Varnum LLP is looking for an experienced Data Privacy/Mobility Attorney to join the Data and Privacy Mobility Practice Team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of legal practice experience with strong regulatory and/or litigation skills, and must be well-versed in emerging domestic and international data privacy regulations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and reviewing data protection impact assessments, privacy policies and product-specific privacy notices; assisting with the implementation of policies and procedures for responding to consumer rights requests and data breaches; reviewing vendor and customer contracts with a focus on security and data privacy issues; and advising mobility and technology providers on domestic and international data privacy laws and regulations.

The successful candidate must possess excellent academic credentials; the ability to simultaneously juggle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of responsiveness; exceptional attention to detail; and outstanding client service skills. Current or pending CIPP certification is preferred. Admission to the Michigan bar is preferred, but not required, as candidates admitted to practice in other jurisdictions will also be considered.
