A law firm is seeking a Mid-level Asset Management and Investment Funds Associate Attorney for their Washington, DC office. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the firm's global Asset Management and Investment Funds practice, working with premier clients worldwide. The candidate will join an esteemed global law firm in their Asset Management and Investment Funds practice. Collaborate with experienced attorneys, receiving active mentoring and opportunities for growth. Preferred experience includes top-tier law firm background or in-house experience at an asset manager.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on matters related to open-end (mutual) funds, closed-end funds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
  • Represent investment companies, investment advisers, and board members on issues arising under . federal securities law, including the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
  • Handle various legal matters pertaining to the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, along with their respective rules and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Four to six years of relevant legal experience.
  • Strong understanding of . federal securities law and regulations.
  • Experience with open-end funds, closed-end funds, and/or ETFs.
  • Familiarity with representing investment companies, advisers, and board members.
  • Previous experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house at an asset manager preferred.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar in good standing.

 

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research and writing abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
