Legal Counsel - Litigation:
- Responsible for managing all aspects of litigation for PayPal in North America, including research, pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, trials, mediations, and appeals.
- Must have a Juris Doctorate degree and active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
- Experience in handling commercial and consumer litigation, particularly in cases involving financial services industry regulations.
- Ability to provide concise legal advice and manage a high volume of complex litigation matters.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
- Familiarity with PayPal, mobile payments, and emerging payment technology is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of litigation in North America, including research, pleadings, motions, discovery, trials, mediations, and appeals.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with senior managers in the legal department.
- Develop strategies to best represent PayPal's interests in a cost-effective manner.
- Foster strong relationships with internal business counterparts.
- Collaborate with outside counsel and align on case strategy, budget, and staffing.
- Advise internal stakeholders on litigation trends and changes in relevant statutes and regulations.
- Review agreements and communications for potential litigation risks.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Manage and leverage data to make informed decisions on litigation management.
- Mentor and develop other team members.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and cases simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Qualifications:
- Mid-level to experienced attorney with a demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of litigation management.
- Juris Doctorate degree and active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
- Experience in handling commercial and consumer litigation, particularly in cases involving financial services industry regulations.
- Ability to provide concise legal advice and manage a high volume of complex litigation matters.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with PayPal, mobile payments, and emerging payment technology preferred.
- Prior experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
- Must be able to travel out of state as needed.
