A law firm is seeking a Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney with the following qualifications and responsibilities:

Job Overview:

The Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney will provide comprehensive legal support in benefits and compensation matters, including qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, executive & deferred compensation arrangements, and supporting benefits and compensation in M&A transactions. The ideal candidate must possess strong legal analysis skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support on various benefits and compensation matters, including qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements.
  • Assist in benefits and compensation matters related to M&A transactions.
  • Support in ERISA litigation and withdrawal liability cases (experience in these areas is a plus).
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide oral advocacy as necessary.
  • Managed and maintained client relationships, ensuring timely and effective communication and resolution of legal issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of benefits experience in private practice.
  • Experience with qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent writing, oral advocacy, communication, and legal analysis skills.

  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
  • Ability to develop relationships and foster teamwork at all levels of the Firm.
