Purpose and Objectives:

- Integrated Regulatory Office (IRO) brings together topic owners, LoBs, and key stakeholders to review complex regulatory requirements and implement them sustainably into SAP products, processes, and operations
- Supports SAP's Cloud Compliance Management System (CCMS)

Role Summary:
- Enhance capabilities of IRO to provide regulatory advice and support business in complying with regulations and standards in North America
- Reports to Regional General Counsel of North America with dotted reporting line to IRO
- Works closely with colleagues in Legal, Security, Data Protection & Export Control, Government Relations, and other compliance and technical functions
- Requires self-starter, ability to build and lead a network of experts, draft policies and procedures, collaborate with impacted business units, and work within complex and ever-changing regulatory environments

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary legal contact within North America regional cluster of Integrated Regulatory Network
- Consolidate overall regulatory compliance activity within Regional Field Legal team and report status to IRO Hub team
- Cultivate network of local Field Legal experts in various jurisdictions within region
- Initiate legal analysis for emerging and existing local regulations in IRO pipeline
- Support CCMS regulatory compliance practice and methodology at local level
- Identify matters for CCMS pipeline and help prioritize based on local needs
- Provide input on regulatory compliance priorities for region
- Drive decisions and support needs for regulatory compliance related activities
- Cascade relevant information and topics to Regional Field Legal leadership team, extended IRO team, and related impacted teams
- Represent local jurisdictional priorities and needs with IRO and related programs
- Work with local outside resources to advise on specific regulatory topics

Required Skills:
- Rich experience and strong expertise in regulatory compliance in one or more fields of regulations
- Good grasp of regional business models and regulatory landscape for Cloud, on-premise software, and mobile app businesses
- Solid drafting skills with experience in writing policies, standard agreements, and public communications
- Demonstrated expertise in structured analysis of regulatory materials and connecting relevant requirements to associated areas of product business, cloud operations, and business processes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to partner with clients and understand business requirements and impact of regulations

Work Experience:
- 2-5 years working in a legal role supporting regulatory compliance matters
- Experience in cloud businesses and/or security is a plus

Education and Qualifications:
- Graduation from accredited law school
- Further technical degrees or certifications (. from IAPP) is a plus
