Tax Senior Manager - Real Estate Tax (Central Region Office Locations) Deloitte is currently seeking a strategic and experienced federal tax professional to join our Real Estate Services Tax practice as a Tax Senior Manager. This role involves providing compliance and consulting services to clients in the real estate industry, including Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), Real Estate Private Equity Funds, and real estate joint ventures and operating partnerships. As a Tax Senior Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement creative tax strategies while utilizing the latest tax technologies in the industry. This role is available in 27 locations across the central region. Position Summary: The Tax Senior Manager will be responsible for providing federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the Real Estate industry. This role involves working directly with clients, managing the tax engagement team, utilizing state-of-the-art technology, and collaborating with a team of specialists to ensure success in your role and career. Key responsibilities include: - Assisting clients with life events for partnerships, such as formations, mergers, and initial public offerings - Using proprietary technologies to streamline tax compliance processes and achieve worldwide compliance - Developing and maintaining strong client relationships in the real estate industry - Advising clients on various tax issues, including REIT qualification and the impact of Tax Reform on passthroughs and other real estate clients - Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects using state-of-the-art technology and data analytics - Managing engagement workflow, team resources, and billing - Mentoring and developing junior staff, including those in our . India office Qualifications: Required: - Ability to work within a hybrid work model, with 2-3 days per week in-person - Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work, clients, and industries/sectors served - 8+ years of corporate or international tax experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field - Accreditation as a CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, or certifications such as CFA or CFP Preferred: - Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM - Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm - Experience with US clients and a basic understanding of US tax - Solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, REIT taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, acquisition/disposition planning and structuring, and federal tax accounting and provisions - Demonstrated effective communication and research skills - Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities - Management experience Salary Information: The wage range for this role takes into account various factors such as skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The estimated range is $119,490 to $272,090, and compensation decisions are based on individual circumstances.
