Job Overview: The Technical Specialist will be crucial in conducting research, managing sequences, and performing searches related to patentability and inventiveness in life sciences. They will be responsible for drafting patent applications, managing the prosecution process, and assisting attorneys in various patent-related tasks.

Duties:

  • Investigate inventorship issues and assess inventions' patentability, novelty, and non-obviousness.
  • Manage intake of invention disclosures and review them for patentability criteria.
  • Evaluate qualification and applicability of prior art, including scientific and technical documents.
  • Draft new patent applications and convert provisional applications into utility applications.
  • Prepare replies to . and foreign office actions and assist with e-file filings.
  • Assist in conducting interviews with USPTO examiners and appeals to PTAB.
  • Participate in meetings with clients to discuss inventions and potential patent claims.
  • Prepare clearance analyses for patent applications.

Requirements:

  • An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a biological field, such as Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Cell Biology, with outstanding academic credentials.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in the field of life sciences.
  • Excellent writing and research abilities are essential.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
