Summary: - Supervising Attorney position available at Neighborhood Legal Services (NLS) - Job location: Batavia, NY - Salary range: $90,000-$110,000 based on experience - Full-time position with a 35-hour work week and shorter summer hours - Excellent benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 15 vacation days, 12 paid holidays, and more - NLS is seeking a dedicated lawyer to lead their Medical-Legal Partnership Unit - Partnered with local community healthcare providers to deliver wraparound civil legal services to underserved communities - Aims to improve health outcomes for low-income individuals and marginalized communities - Responsible for monitoring all aspects of direct civil legal services provided to clients through the MLP Unit - Develop, implement, and monitor necessary activities to assist staff attorneys, paralegals, support staff, interns, and volunteers - Collaborate with medical provider partners to develop and maintain a referral network and coordinate community outreach, education, and training - Identify systemic legal issues and develop and implement impact litigation strategies - Oversee attorneys and staff, represent clients, and maintain a caseload - Ensure staff compliance with funding and grant requirements - Law degree (JD) and active New York license required - Minimum of six years of experience in a private practice or legal services setting - Prior management experience preferred but not required - Commitment to addressing systemic poverty, race, and justice issues and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion - How to apply: send resume, cover letter, 3 references, and a writing sample to with the subject line “MLP Supervising Attorney Application”
