As a Tax Senior Manager at RSM, you will be responsible for providing tax planning and compliance services to our corporate clients in the life sciences industry. This includes managing the impact of taxes on their business and advising clients on tax strategy using your industry experience and technical expertise. You will also be responsible for managing relationships with clients, developing new business opportunities, and training and mentoring staff members.

Salary: $120,200 - $261,100
Location: New York or Edison, New Jersey (flexible)

Responsibilities:

- Serve as a Career Advisor, mentor, or coach to one or more employees, providing honest and timely performance feedback (10-20% of time)
- Drive growth and profitability by generating new revenue, cross-selling, and acquiring new clients (30-40% of time)
- Interact directly with clients to handle questions, planning, and consulting (20-40% of time)
- Train and develop staff members
- Communicate complex tax issues in a non-technical manner to facilitate understanding between the client and service team
- Lead and manage complex engagements, focusing on providing high-quality tax advice and expanding services to clients
- Coordinate tax services for clients and review research findings to ensure compliance with firm policies and professional standards
- Build relationships across lines of business to provide excellent client service
- Keep up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
- Other duties as assigned
- Some travel may be required

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA, JD, LLM, or EA certification
- 8+ years of public accounting experience or equivalent in law firms or industry
- Experience with C-Corps
- Ability to support financial growth efforts and manage a book of business
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740
- Proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients
- Project management and critical thinking skills
- Ability to generate new business and identify service opportunities
- Experience dealing with international tax matters
- Fluent in French, German, Japanese, or Mandarin, with a deep understanding of the culture and business practices within the country of fluency
- Proven track record of managing relationships with large non-US companies with significant operations in North America
