The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is looking for an experienced attorney to join their Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) as an Assistant Attorney General IV-V. This position will be cross-designated as a Special United States Attorney (SAUSA) and will work closely with the FBI, HHS-OIG, and other federal law enforcement agencies to identify, investigate, and prosecute significant health care fraud cases. The successful candidate will also be required to obtain a Top Secret federal security clearance and make a three-year commitment to the MFCU/USAO.

H2: Essential Position Functions

- Prepare and present complex criminal cases involving federal health care laws and regulations
- Conduct all phases of criminal prosecution, including jury and bench trials
- Analyze complex factual and legal issues and develop evidence
- Perform legal research and report findings
- Advise investigators and management on factual and legal issues
- Assist investigators and auditors in investigations
- Attend work regularly and comply with agency policies and procedures
- Ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive information
- Comply with federal grant funding requirements for the MFCU
- Use personal or agency pool vehicles for business-related travel

- Graduation from an accredited law school with a .
- Licensed as an attorney by the State of Texas
- Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
