POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Regulatory Counsel at IFG Companies will serve as a trusted advisor for the company's senior management team on compliance and regulatory matters. This full-time position is based in one of IFG's five office locations: Scottsdale, AZ; Hartford, CT; Alpharetta, GA; Chicago, IL; or Chapel Hill, NC.

SALARY RANGE:
The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 to $180,000 annually and is subject to change at any time at the discretion of the company.

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES:
- Stay up-to-date on regulatory changes related to IFG Companies' insurance operations
- Perform legal research and analysis of state insurance statutes and regulations
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and implement effective controls
- Develop training and awareness initiatives for compliance issues
- Investigate and respond to Department of Insurance correspondence and exams
- Oversee and advise on effective controls for monitoring data and privacy laws
- Liaise with trade organizations on regulatory matters
- Maintain and update corporate books and records
- Manage licensing processes and staff
- Assist with general legal tasks as needed

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES INCLUDING:
- Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills
- Commitment to ethical practice of law
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Strong researching skills
- Thorough understanding of insurance regulatory and compliance environment
- Clear, concise legal reasoning and judgment
- Working knowledge of legal and regulatory databases and systems

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:
- JD from an ABA accredited law school
- 8+ years of compliance experience, preferably in-house counsel for a commercial property and casualty insurance company
- Admitted to practice law in at least one state
- Corporate governance and/or corporate secretarial experience is a plus
