Law Firm Seeks Commercial Litigation Associate in Kansas City, MO

JOB TITLE: Commercial Litigation Associate

Spencer Fane, a prestigious law firm, is seeking a talented and experienced Commercial Litigation Associate for our Kansas City, MO office. This is a full-time position with a hybrid work environment.

Job Summary:

As a Commercial Litigation Associate, you will have the opportunity to work on complex commercial litigation cases from start to finish. Your responsibilities will include fact investigation, legal research, drafting discovery, preparing pleadings, taking and defending depositions, participating in mediations, communicating with opposing counsel and clients, appearing in court for motions and pre-hearing proceedings, and potentially even trial experience. We are looking for someone with 2-4 years of experience in commercial litigation, preferably in a law firm setting.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must have a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to the Missouri bar. Admission to the Kansas bar is also preferred. Additionally, we are looking for someone who has exceptional written and oral communication skills, strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, outstanding judgment, and the ability to handle multiple projects efficiently. You must also be able to work independently and productively, as well as interface directly with attorneys and clients.

Physical Requirements:

This position is primarily sedentary, but may require occasional inter-office mobility and the ability to lift up to 10-20 lbs. You must also have the ability to efficiently communicate, perform repetitive motions, and see and read PC screens.
