This role is responsible for driving high-profile, cross-functional initiatives related to data protection and privacy risk management, with a focus on human resources and security-related matters. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, a substantive knowledge of US privacy laws, and the ability to work independently and with large teams.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve privacy frameworks and processes to ensure compliance with global privacy laws
- Evaluate the impact of privacy laws on new and existing HR and security processes and tools
- Maintain subject-matter expertise in relevant areas
- Support legal, policy, and business teams on privacy matters
- Engage with global privacy regulators on new privacy features and initiatives

Minimum qualifications:
- . degree and active membership in at least one . state bar
- 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
- Experience with global privacy laws and regulations
- Experience in litigation, regulatory, or security counseling

Preferred qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
- Employment law or HR experience
- Demonstrated experience in privacy and data issues
- Experience with client counseling and business judgment
- Experience working with cross-functional organizations
- Experience supporting a global team at an Internet services and technology company
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
