Department Core Tax Services The role of Tax Manager, Core Tax Services - ASC 740 is a crucial one within our firm, as this individual will be responsible for advising clients on tax implications and finding ways to lessen their tax burden and compliance costs. In this role, the Tax Manager will also act as the primary contact for complex corporate tax and ASC 740 tax issues. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation, with a preference for a Master's degree. The salary for this position will vary depending on qualifications, experience, skills, and location, with a range of $86,000 - $150,000. Key Responsibilities: Provide tax compliance services, ensuring clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens. Conduct top-level reviews of tax returns and resolve any issues with clients. Communicate any issues identified in tax accrual reviews with Assurance clients. Plan and review the tax process and procedures, including budgeting, staffing, monitoring engagement process, timely billing, and collection. Manage client relationships and expectations. Conduct research and accurately report analysis on tax issues. Apply and proactively adhere to ASC 740-10 and Firm policies, standards, and the BDO Tax Quality Manual. Explain and discuss components of the income tax provision and uncertain tax positions with clients. Collaborate with the Firm's National Tax and Specialized Tax Services to deliver high-quality deliverables and analyses on ASC 740. Develop an in-depth understanding of one or more areas of taxation. Identify and implement efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits. Make suggestions for improving previous work products or approaches. Train and mentor junior staff members. Act as a technical resource and assist with exam support. Act as a Career Advisor to junior staff members. Schedule and manage workload for junior staff members. Provide performance feedback to junior staff members. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation required; Master's degree preferred. Five or more years of prior experience required. Experience in managing the process of preparing and auditing ASC740 computations for both privately held and publicly traded clients required. Supervisory experience required. Multinational client experience preferred. CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools and tax research databases such as BNA and RIA. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to delegate work effectively.
