# Senior Corporate Counsel - Remote East Coast

We are looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel to provide pragmatic legal advice, counsel and representation to the organization, reporting to the Vice President, Legal.

## What You Will Do in this Role
* Provide accurate, pragmatic and timely advice to business leaders on a variety of legal topics that relate to the company business and product.
* Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and agreements.
* Manage internal contract review and retention process and systems
* Provide input on internal governance policies and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the business. Promote legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the company.
* Remain up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect our business and industry.

## What You’ll Need for this Role
* Education: . degree. MA in Business Administration or related field will be considered an asset
* 5-7+ years legal practice in corporate commercial law with proven general counseling experience in a business environment.
* Prior experience as in-house counsel strongly preferred.
* Overall broad legal knowledge (corporate law, litigations, contracts, etc.) Working knowledge in commercial compliance, privacy, licensing, and regulatory matters a plus.
* In-depth understanding of how legal issues affect organizations
* Ability to develop legal strategy and objectives with a business and solutions-oriented mindset
* Well-versed in how businesses operate, baseline financial acumen.
* High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas
* Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to “see around the corner”
* Excellent judgement and analytical skills
* Excellent writing skills. Must be able to summarize complex issues in a clear, succinct, and accurate manner.
* Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, engage resources and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Experienced team leaders, with demonstrated experience in talent development.
* Expertise in Microsoft suite and Contract Management Systems.
* Limited travel.
