Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join the Project Finance and Public Finance Practice Group in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate should have at least 3+ years of experience focusing on tax issues related to public finance and infrastructure finance transactions. They should possess strong academic credentials, excellent communication and writing skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support in tax matters related to public finance and infrastructure finance transactions.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on federal tax issues.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and opinions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on client matters and projects.
  • Participate in client meetings and negotiations as necessary.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations relevant to the practice area.
  • Handle other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervising attorneys.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in tax law, focusing on public finance and infrastructure finance transactions.
  • Strong understanding of federal tax matters.
  • Experience with tax issues related to tax credits, section 501c3 organizations, financial products, and IRS audits is a plus.
  • Stellar academic credentials from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar is in the jurisdiction of practice (Washington, DC, Bar membership is preferred).
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar is in the jurisdiction of practice (Washington, DC Bar membership is preferred).
