This position involves representing state law enforcement agencies and their officials and employees in civil proceedings in both federal and state court. The OAG is a dynamic state agency with over 4,000 employees throughout Texas and offers excellent benefits and opportunities for important work. AAGs in the LEDD have a robust litigation practice and handle all aspects of litigation, including motion and discovery practice, jury trials, and matters at the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and state courts of appeals. This position requires a Juris Doctor (.) degree, at least two years of experience as a licensed attorney working in civil litigation, and being a member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. AAGs must also have excellent organizational and communication skills, be able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines, and have the ability to work well with others in a professional office environment. The ideal candidate would also have experience in both federal and state court civil litigation and exceptional academic credentials. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to work in-person at the OAG's office in Austin, Texas.
