Job Title:

Senior Legal Counsel - Intellectual Property

Experience Information:

5+ years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm, US government (. clerkship and/or agency experience), and/or in-house legal department. Experience in managing patent appeals before the Federal Circuit and litigating patent disputes before the ITC, District Courts, and/or PTAB is required.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee patent litigation for all Samsung Electronics America products
- Handle IP policy issues and participate in outreach efforts to US Congress and Administrative Agencies
- Work in a multidisciplinary team environment to direct complex IP disputes
- Counsel internal clients on IP litigation and patent valuation
- Manage outside counsel in complex IP disputes
- Monitor and analyze current IP policy proposals
- Represent the company in advocacy organizations and at public conferences and events

Skills and Qualifications:

- JD with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Substantive experience managing patent appeals before the Federal Circuit
- Additional experience litigating patent disputes before the ITC, District Courts, and/or PTAB
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to translate complex IP policy issues into manageable concepts
- Self-starter and ability to work effectively independently and in a cross-cultural team
