Overview:

RSM US LLP, a leading provider of professional services to the middle market globally, is seeking a Tax Manager to join their Real Estate practice. This role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients in the Real Estate industry, including Real Estate Investment Trusts, Real Estate Private Equity Funds, developers, family offices, and more. The Tax Manager will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing complex partnership returns, providing mentorship and coaching to employees, and managing the tax needs of clients.

Responsibilities:

- Review and analyze complex partnership returns for real estate clients
- Train and develop staff members
- Serve as a mentor and coach to employees
- Communicate complex tax issues in a non-technical manner to clients
- Manage the tax needs of clients, including tax planning, research, and compliance
- Stay up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
- Assist with new business development and identifying tax issues for existing clients
- Manage federal and state tax compliance for corporate clients
- Some travel may be required

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in business taxation with a Big 4 or large accounting firm
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Active CPA, Enrolled Agent, or Licensed JD
- Prior experience working with real estate private equity clients and REIT's
- Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation
- Effective communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation
- Experience with international tax matters
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience with ASC 740's
