The Administrative Law Judge OSHAB is responsible for adjudicating administrative hearings for Cal-OSHA appeals. They preside over and conduct hearings pertaining to appeal of employer citations and regulate the course of the hearing, instruct parties of their rights and responsibilities, and administer oaths to witnesses. They serve as an impartial adjudicator and take notes during the hearing, ruling on parties' motions and scheduling further proceedings. The incumbent also conducts pre-hearing conferences, status conferences, and settlement conferences to assist parties in reaching a resolution before the hearing. They are also responsible for attending trainings and stakeholder meetings, performing legal research, and drafting and finalizing ALJ decisions in accordance to Appeals Board policies and procedures.

The job is located at the DIR Occupational Safety and Health Appeals Board in Sacramento County and requires the incumbent to work a minimum of 40 hours per week in an office setting. The position offers a hybrid telework option and the office is located close to major highways and the Sacramento International Airport.
