Position Summary:

Deloitte is seeking a strategic and innovative Tax Manager to lead teams in solving complex federal tax issues. This role will involve providing federal tax compliance and consulting services to clients in the insurance and financial services industries. Work You’ll Do:

As a Tax Manager in the Business Tax Services Insurance group, you will work with a diverse client base in various industries. You will have the opportunity to work directly with clients, manage tax engagement teams, and collaborate with a team of specialists when needed. Your success in this role will be supported by firm leadership and a strong support system.

Responsibilities will include:

• Building and maintaining strong client relationships in the insurance industry.
• Managing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects for various entities and their affiliates.
• Ensuring the accuracy of tax results through the use of technology solutions.
• Supporting the development and implementation of tax strategies and planning opportunities.
• Managing engagement workflow, team resources, and billing.
• Providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance to the engagement team.
• Collaborating with other service lines and peers to address tax issues and meet organizational objectives.
• Staying updated on trends and developments in the insurance industry.
• Delivering professional and timely services to internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

• Ability to perform job responsibilities in a hybrid work model with 2-3 days in-person per week.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for work.
• 5+ years of experience in federal taxation.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience managing client relationships and engagement teams.
• Proficient in tax code and regulations.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SSAP, ASC 740, and SSAP 101.
• Technologically inclined with the ability to communicate complex tax issues in a simplified manner.
• Active accreditation such as a CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, CFA, or CFP.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, or LLM.
• Previous experience in a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
• Proficiency with SSAP 101 and experience in the insurance industry.

Compensation:

The wage range for this role takes into account various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic location. At Deloitte, it is not typical for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are based on individual circumstances.

The estimated salary range for this role is $84,980 to $193,440 per year. Additionally, you may be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
