Job Title: Supreme Court and Appellate Counsel

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly experienced Supreme Court and Appellate Counsel to support and continue to build the Firm's Supreme Court practice. The successful candidate will work closely with partners in the Group to supervise, draft, and edit certiorari and merits stage briefing, develop and execute strategic initiatives to expand the SCA Group’s presence before the Court and manage and develop associates in the SCA Group regarding Supreme Court matters.

Job Duties:

  • Supervise, draft, and edit certiorari and merits stage briefing in collaboration with partners.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to expand the SCA Group’s presence before the Supreme Court.
  • Manage and develop associates in the SCA Group regarding Supreme Court matters.
  • Provide extensive Supreme Court and appellate litigation experience.

Requirements:

  • Former Supreme Court and/or federal court of appeals clerk preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in appellate litigation, including extensive experience in the Supreme Court.
  • Superb writing, oral communication, and management skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC.

Skills:

  • Extensive experience in Supreme Court and appellate litigation.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation abilities.
  • Effective management and leadership skills.

Job Location: Washington, DC
