Join their team in driving growth and improving lives. Job Summary: Cigna Legal is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as Associate Senior Counsel for their Government Business Segment. The role will involve providing strategic advice and counsel to the Medicare Advantage Government Business Segment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of federal healthcare programs, specifically Medicare, and be able to effectively manage a high volume of matters in a complex regulatory environment. Responsibilities: - Provide strategic legal advice to Cigna's Medicare Advantage programs, including Employer Group Waiver Plans and D-SNP - Advise on compliance and risk mitigation, FDR oversight, financial and reporting requirements, and value-based agreements - Collaborate with colleagues across legal and compliance departments - Serve as subject matter expert on federal healthcare laws and regulations - Partner with business teams to achieve enterprise goals while ensuring compliance - Strategically advise on response to proposed and new rules, regulations, and legislation - Work closely with Medicare Advantage Operations, Sales and Growth, Government Affairs, and Compliance - Prepare executive-facing analyses and risk assessments Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate (J/D) and Bar membership required - At least 8 years of in-house managed care organization or law firm healthcare experience - Deep knowledge of federal healthcare programs and health plan operations - Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills - Interpersonal skills to develop and manage relationships with business clients - Track record of success in a highly matrixed environment - Ability to identify issues and propose actionable solutions - Creative problem-solving and time-management skills - Resilience and strong work ethic - Experience in measuring and analyzing process and results - Strong project and knowledge management skills Location: This is a hybrid role and will require the candidate to be in the office 50% of the time. Possible office locations include Nashville, TN, St. Louis, MO, Philadelphia PA, or Bloomfield, CT.
