A law firm in Minneapolis, MN, is currently seeking a highly qualified Banking and Finance Associate Attorney with a focus on low-income housing and/or tax credit-based lending transactions. The successful candidate will be key in handling complex loan documentation, negotiating various financing documents, and reviewing due diligence materials. The role requires a solid understanding of the interests of various parties involved in such transactions, as well as expertise in bond financing and relevant state and/or federal historic tax credits.

Job Overview:

The Banking and Finance Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing and overseeing low-income housing and/or tax credit-based lending transactions. This includes drafting and negotiating complex loan documentation, reviewing and negotiating bond, government, and other subsidy financing documents, and thoroughly examining due diligence materials.

Duties:

• Draft and negotiate complex loan documentation for low-income housing and tax credit-based lending transactions.
• Review and negotiate bond, government, and other subsidy financing documents.
• Examine due diligence materials, including borrower partnership and operating agreements.
• Manage and coordinate the interests of various parties involved in transactions.
• Provide expertise in bond financing and state/federal historic tax credits.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of substantive experience in low-income housing and/or tax credit-based lending transactions.
• Solid understanding of the interests of various parties in such transactions.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong drafting skills with a focus on accuracy and precision.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong academic and professional credentials.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Minnesota State Bar or ability to gain admission promptly.
