- Experience in patent preparation and prosecution required
- Experience in IP litigation is a plus

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research on IP issues, with a focus on patent and trademark law
- Draft and prepare legal documents related to IP, such as agreements, briefs, and memoranda
- Prepare and file patent, trademark, and copyright applications, including responding to refusals and interfacing with government offices
- Advise and counsel clients on IP protection and enforcement strategies
- Manage and maintain IP portfolios
- Conduct due diligence for IP and business transactions
- Stay up-to-date with changes in IP laws and regulations

Skills and Competencies:
- Strong background in IP law, particularly in patents and patent prosecution
- Excellent research, legal writing, and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Problem-solving skills and ability to manage time and resources effectively
- Admission to at least one state bar and ability to seek admission in Tennessee

Education Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, chemical, computer/software)
- Passed the Patent Bar
- Admission to at least one state bar in relevant jurisdiction
