A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a talented Lateral Corporate - Restructuring and Special Situations Finance Associate Attorney with 5-8 years of experience. The successful candidate will have significant experience representing creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions, DIP financings, bankruptcy exit financings, and/or special situations financings. They will collaborate closely with the Global Finance team and the Business Restructuring & Reorganization team, working on high-profile representations for hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions.

 

Duties:

  • Represent creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions.
  • Handle DIP financings and bankruptcy exit financings.
  • Work on special situations financings.
  • Collaborate with the Global Finance team and Business Restructuring & Reorganization team.
  • Handle high-profile representations for hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions.
  • Participate in chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.

 

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in corporate restructuring and special situations finance.
  • Experience in liability management transactions, DIP financings, bankruptcy exit financings, and/or special situations financings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in representing creditors or borrowers.
  • Strong understanding of chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law.
