Spencer Fane is currently seeking a Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney with 8-10 years of experience to join our Santa Monica, CA office. This is an immediate opportunity to take on substantial litigation matters.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: $190,000 - $220,000, depending on location, plus opportunity for variable compensation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record
Admission to the California bar
Ability to interface directly with attorneys and clients
Demonstrate an ability to work independently and productively
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Strong decision-making, problem-solving and organization skills
Outstanding judgment
Ability to effectively manage internal and external deadlines
Ability to develop and implement legal strategies
Concentration in employment, real estate, or commercial construction litigation (not defect) preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements

The position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time, but may involve the need for inter-office mobility for brief periods of time. The candidate must have the ability to occasionally or routinely lift up to 10 – 20 lbs., efficiently communicate, and perform repetitive motions required. Additionally, the ability to see and read PC screens, detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print is necessary.

The candidate will have an immediate opportunity to take on substantial litigation matters. An ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in successfully executing legal strategy, taking depositions, motion practice, trial, arbitration, hearings, producing witnesses for depositions, and other key litigation events. Candidates must have law firm experience and previous experience advocating for clients. The ideal candidate will have some experience with real estate or commercial construction litigation (not defect).
