Senior Counsel - Reinsurance & Finance Company is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to join their Global Legal Services (“GLS”) team. This position will provide experienced level of timely, high-quality legal advice and assistance to GLS attorneys and business clients with an emphasis on financing, corporate and reinsurance issues and transactions. Responsibilities: Collaborate and communicate with members of the GLS team and business clients to perform assignments and projects involving an advanced level of complexity. Provide experienced level of timely, high-quality legal advice and support to business clients. Proactively serve clients and demonstrate a strong work ethic while appropriately escalating matters. Draft, prepare and negotiate independently and in collaboration with senior GLS attorneys and business clients financing, corporate and reinsurance documents and other essential legal documents. Apply substantial knowledge and experience to identify legal issues and provide advice on alternatives to mitigate risk to the enterprise while achieving client goals and objectives. Assist, as needed, in due diligence and document review and preparation processes in connection with transactional matters. Research and analyze legal issues and questions using appropriate resources. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Other projects as assigned. Requirements: Law degree from a United States accredited law school Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university or college Licensed to practice law in at least one . State 6 to 9 years’ experience as an attorney in a law firm or in a corporate legal function Business, finance or accounting degree or experience; working knowledge of concepts, terminology and practices Preferred: Experience in a global business enterprise with operations on various continents with different legal systems and cultures Experience with reinsurance or financing concepts and transactions Skills and Abilities: Experienced, senior-level knowledge of . laws and regulations, and a commitment to acquire knowledge of . laws and regulations Substantial and experienced knowledge of legal and contract terminology and methods; general business and financial knowledge Working knowledge of financial services operations and products Experienced ability to identify and interpret business and contract issues Experienced client counseling skills in translating business needs and problems into viable and accepted solutions Excellent client service and interpersonal skills, with continual focus and dedication to high level of client service Excellent skills with respect to drafting, review, proofreading, negotiation, persuasion, and oral and written communication.
