The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) in Texas is seeking an experienced and self-driven attorney for their Antitrust Division. This position requires a minimum of 2-3 years of experience for an AAG III and 3-4 years of experience for an AAG IV. The salary for this position ranges from $9, - $10, per month and offers excellent benefits.

The OAG is responsible for investigating and prosecuting violations of the Texas Free Enterprise and Antitrust Act and federal antitrust statutes. This includes cases involving antitrust violations such as monopolization, conspiracies among competitors, or anticompetitive mergers. The Antitrust Division's caseload consists of highly complex and high-profile investigations and litigation that may be local, regional, or national in scope.

As an AAG, you will have the opportunity to work on complex legal and factual issues, collaborate with a team, and independently oversee cases. You may also have the chance to work with other state attorneys general, the Federal Trade Commission, or the . Department of Justice. This position offers a healthy work-life balance, hands-on legal experience, and engaging camaraderie in Austin, the scenic and lively capital of Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conducting antitrust and related litigation in both state and federal courts
- Initiating and conducting antitrust and related law investigations
- Providing antitrust and related information to state and local governments
- Performing all phases of civil litigation for antitrust cases
- Representing the OAG before state or federal district and appellate courts
- Providing legal advice and counsel to client state agencies, local prosecutors, or law enforcement entities
- Managing a high volume of litigation cases and investigations (AAG IV only)
- Assisting with training and mentoring less tenured staff (AAG IV only)

Qualifications:

- Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas
- Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience for an AAG III and 3-4 years of experience for an AAG IV in antitrust, complex civil litigation, or commercial litigation
- Knowledge of antitrust law and legal principles and practices
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Sound judgment and effective decision-making abilities
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location and travel as needed
